Hidden Histories

April 2019

When you blow things up to a monumental scale, important details get left behind. On the 25th March - International Day of the Victims of Slavery - we unveiled the hidden histories of figures commemmorated as statues, whose involvement in the Transatlantic slave trade has been forgotten. On this day, members of the public are sent their own pieces of cloth along with a website link detailing all the statues in the UK also sharing these hidden histories, so that they can go out and join the protest.

We covered the statue of Robert Miligian who was owner to 526 enslaved people.

Update: This statue was removed on the 9th June 2020. Read more about the removal here.
